2026 Nonprofit Energy Makeover Contest

What Is the Nonprofit Energy Makeover Contest?

The Nonprofit Energy Makeover Contest is a high-impact initiative led by Sustainable Energy Fund to transform an aging nonprofit building into a more efficient, comfortable, and sustainable space — at no cost to the winning organization.

We are looking for the nonprofit that does the most good in the building that needs the most work.

The selected organization will receive a professional energy assessment and building improvements designed to:

  • Reduce electric bills
  • Improve comfort and building performance
  • Decrease energy waste
  • Redirect savings back into mission-driven programs

By lowering energy costs, the winning nonprofit can reinvest those dollars into the services and community impact that matter most. At the same time, the project demonstrates how energy efficiency strengthens organizations and supports a more sustainable future for Pennsylvania communities.
