Sustainable Energy Fund Honors Matt Steiman with Epstein Award

SKYTOP, PA.
– Sustainable Energy Fund honors Matt Steiman with the Epstein Lifetime Achievement Award on Wednesday, August 21, at the Skytop Lodge. The Epstein Award is presented to a deserving individual each year for a lifetime of work moving society towards a sustainable energy future.

Mr. Steiman is the Energy Projects Manager at the Dickinson College Farm near Carlisle, PA.  Steiman co-founded the 90-acre educational production farm with his wife, Jenn Halpin, in 2007.  Farm staff and students operate numerous renewable energy systems, including solar thermal, PV, electric vehicles and small-scale biogas.  The farm’s crown jewel of sustainable energy is a new waste-to-electricity bio-digester system that converts dairy manure and food scraps into utility-grade power.

Steiman began his passion for energy at Wilson College, where he was an original trainee in the Sustainable Energy Fund Solar Scholars program. Since 2003, he has been building and teaching practical renewable energy solutions to students of all ages.
