Sustainable Energy Fund Announces Purchase of Land for Net Zero Building

ALLENTOWN, PA., June 29, 2017 – Sustainable Energy Fund (SEF) has purchased a parcel of land at 4250 Independence Drive, Schnecksville, PA in North Whitehall Township for construction of a high performance, technically advanced Net Zero Building.

The proposed building will be a 15,000 square foot office building which will produce as much or more energy than it uses during the year. To construct such a building, Sustainable Energy Fund will use advanced building design and construction techniques to reduce the energy consumption of the building as much as is technically and economically feasible and will supplement consumption with renewable energy resources. Sustainable Energy Fund will occupy part of the space and will lease the remaining offices to local businesses. Sustainable Energy Fund is not aware of another Net Zero Commercial Office Building located in the Lehigh Valley and is excited to introduce this technology to the area.

“We are very excited about Sustainable Energy Fund’s purchase of land and the prospect of introducing the Lehigh Valley to Net Zero technology,” said John Costlow, Presiden, and CEO of Sustainable Energy Fund. “The construction of this building will allow Sustainable Energy Fund to further promote and fulfill our mission and educational goals while allowing local businesses to be more sustainable.”

Sustainable Energy Fund hopes to use the building to educate the public on Net Zero technology by hosting educational sessions about the technology, as well as additional sessions on general sustainability, on site. They also hope it will raise awareness within the community of the need to work towards a more sustainable future and the viability of doing so.
